A career teacher, David Feist is also a prolific author. With scores of releases in diverse genres, Feist now writes books specifically geared toward target audiences. If you are a fourth grade teacher, Feist spilled the laughter can with "Operation Code Name Zero Dark Thirty," a mystery-farce created for his class of nine-year-olds in rural Tennessee (Spring 2014). "Also, consider the Petie series," urges Feist. "These are great for third and fourth grade and on so many levels." Another series of leveled readers is his "Beach Kids" and "Beach Twins" series. For that Minnesota cabin fever time (six months a year), why not try on these Orlando, Florida fun-reads. Order a five or seven pack for your flexible groups. A more recent three-part series is The Haunted Mansion set. Each book in the series works toward reading growth. The first book has a resource book available for purchase with ample reproducibles, and is the best choice of the three for whole group.
