Dr. Maria Filomena Guerra holds a Portuguese doctoral degree in Applied Physics (Nuclear Physics) and a French HDR in Physics (Material sciences and structure). Director of research in Chemistry at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), affiliated to UMR 8233 MONARIS at Sorbonne University, she is an expert in analytical base studies of ancient goldwork. Professor Marcos Martinón-Torres is Pitt-Rivers Professor of Archaeological Science at the University of Cambridge, and editor of the Journal of Archaeological Science. Previously, he was a Professor at the UCL Institute of Archaeology. He has a particular interest in past technologies, with archaeometallurgical research projects in Asia, Europe, Africa and the Americas. Prof. Stephen Quirke is Edwards Professor of Egyptian Archaeology and Philology at the UCL Institute of Archaeology; his research is on hieratic writing, Middle Kingdom social history, and history of archaeology and collections from Egypt. From 1999 to 2013 he was curator at the Petrie Museum of Egyptian Archaeology.
