This work, a combined effort from leading specialists in areas of intelligence gathering, information warfare, future warfare, and more, explores the expanding realm of net-centric warfare and the challenges new methods of war pose for military commanders, from the platoon leader to senior leadership at the highest levels. It represents the culmination of a combined research program conducted by the US Military and DARPA (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency) and has been approved for publication by those agencies.
Alexander Kott is a program manager in the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency, the central R&D organization of the U.S. Department of Defense. Much of his work focuses on innovative information technologies for command and control. He earned his PhD from the University of Pittsburgh. Later, he directed R&D organizations at technology companies including Carnegie Group, Honeywell, and BBN.
