The third novel in the bestselling 8-volume Angel Mountain Saga, about the life and times of the incorrigible, passionate and very imperfect heroine Martha Morgan
Brian John was born in Carmarthen in 1940 and brought up in
Pembrokeshire. He is married and has two grown up sons and two
grandsons. He studied at Haverfordwest Grammar School and at Jesus
College Oxford, where he read Geography, had a lot of fun and
obtained his D Phil degree for a pioneering study of the Ice Age in
Pembrokeshire.
When he was a student he led two University expeditions, to Iceland
and Greenland, and thinks it is a minor miracle that he survived.
He then worked as a field scientist in Antarctica and spent 11
years as a Geography Lecturer in Durham University. He has
travelled widely, mostly in cold places.
In 1977 he and his family moved to a smallholding near Newport in
Pembrokeshire, and since then he has made his living as a writer
and publisher. He is also actively involved in environmental and
community organisations. Janine has been working as a voiceover
artist for 15+ years for radio stations and production companies in
the UK, Europe and beyond. As well as her extensive TV and radio
advertising work, Janine also regularly voices training modules,
corporates and 'explainers' for a number of organisations across
the public and private sector. She’s hugely adaptable, enjoying the
challenge of each and every project that comes her way. Malk
Williams is an accomplished voiceover artist and audiobook narrator
with many years of experience in storytelling, public speaking and
performance. Malk has many years of experience telling and
listening to stories during which, he has recorded over 50
audiobooks. He has a versatile voice, a good ear for accents and
can deliver reads that range from warm and friendly, through to
precise and formal, right down to guttural spine-tingling.
'It has a page-turning plot, packed with adventure, treason, murder
and passion, where the horrors in the drama are balanced by gentle
scenes full of the warmth and love of the family at Plas
Ingli.'
*Welsh Books Council*
'An excellent book which recounts the further adventures of
Mistress Martha Morgan of Plas Ingli – who is now firmly
established as one of the most interesting heroines in recent
historical fiction. Move over, Elizabeth Bennett! Really this tale,
set in the early 1800's, is about love lost and regained, and while
the story is dominated by a mysterious figure in black called The
Nightwalker, and by the heroine's self-doubts and periods of
depression, this novel is really about constancy and the triumph of
love. As in the earlier novels, the plot twists and turns and
rushes ahead at a fine pace, and once again the author packs a
double whammy into the final few pages of the book.'
