Kim Palacios is an alumna of the Baldwin School, the New York University Gallatin School of Individualized Study and the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, where she was a Robert W. Fogel Distinguished Fellow. She began writing professionally in 2009, after a lifetime infatuation with the craft; her writing on travel, entertainment, and finance has won recognition including a 2009 Book Passage Travel Writers and Photographers Conference 2nd Prize for her essay "I Dreamed of Africa", and syndication of her columns for various news outlets on dozens of sites, including The Huffington Post. She is quadrilingual, a studying Sommelier, and an epicurean zealot. While not mourning the death of free markets and the tax treatment of Californians, she enjoys film.
