Mary Ellen Rose, Ph.D., is the Co-Founder and Chief Science Officer of the Institute for Healthy Destination Accreditation. Providing consulting services to corporations and healthcare institutions across the U.S. since 1982, Dr. Rose has published numerous papers, textbook chapters, journal articles, and resources addressing chronic disease management, global health, personal wellness, behavior change and the field of health promotion. In 2002 she developed the PIECES(R) model, which has been utilized as a tool for worksite wellness data gathering systems, outcome measurements and health-related workshops as well as for teaching University courses in stress management, women's health, and global health promotion. In addition to her role as a Board member of the International Association for Worksite Health Promotion, Dr. Rose currently serves as a Red Cross volunteer at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center where she functions as a health promotion science advisor serving over 550,000 military personnel in the Metro Washington DC area.
