About the Author

After 39 years as an advertising and broadcast executive, and a decade coaching senior level executives and entrepreneurs, Bob Herpe retired in order to care for his wife who was a victim of Alzheimer's disease. At the age of 89, he began to write and is now on his second novel.

Reviews

Bob Herpe's debut novel, Gravnick, is a fast-paced, hard-edged, and well-written work of fiction. The plot and character development were more than adequate, and the dialogue felt real. The story picked up from the start with a momentum that built steadily. I appreciate the level of research that went into making the writing so compelling. The characterizations were believable, and the context of a dead attorney defending his client from the "grave" was quite fascinating. I also enjoyed how the author used alternate chapters to give readers backgrouind on the key characters in the book. As for the story itself, it is about a Police Chief named Ernie Gravnick and a Chicago murder that involves a thirteen-year-old boy. Someone in the shadows does not want the case to be solved. ONLINEBOOKCLUB.ORG "A tale well-told. Reminded me of The Godfather." - Jack Andrews, Editor
