Olive Kennon Beaupre was an American writer born in 1883.
Olive first began writing stories and poems for her daughter and
was encouraged by her husband to publish them. After having her
first works published by P.F. Volland Company, Olive founded The
Book House for Children with her husband in 1919, where she could
publish children's stories to her own standards. One of Olive's
most famous works was her six-volume collection of My Book House,
which was the first collection to be graded to meet the developing
needs and abilities of children of different ages.
