Dr. Robert E. Feinstein is currently a psychiatrist and
psychoanalyst in a private practice and organizational consulting
in Stamford, Connecticut. He is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry
at the Donald and Barbara Zucker Medical School at
Northwell/Hofstra. He teaches and supervises at Zucker Hillside
Hospital in Long Island, New York and from his private practice.
Dr. Feinstein studied at the New York University School of
Medicine, was a psychiatry resident at
Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY. He trained as a
psychoanalyst at Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic
Training and Research. Dr. Feinstein was formerly Professor of
Psychiatry
at University of Colorado School of Medicine and Dell Medical
School. In addition, Dr. Feinstein served as Senior Associate Dean
of Education at the Colorado School of Medicine, is a University of
Colorado Denver President's Teacher's Scholar, and former Director
of Psychiatric Residency Training at New York Medical College. He
is an author, expert teacher, supervisor, mentor, researcher,
psychiatric consultant, with many peer review publications in
psychiatric education, psychotherapy,
personality disorders, suicide and violence prevention , behavioral
change, health & wellbeing, and integrated care. He also edited
"Integrating Behavioral Health and Primary Care" which was
published by
Oxford University Press in 2017. In addition, as a clinician and
administrator he was Director of Psychiatric Emergency Service at
Jacobi Hospital in the Bronx, NY and was Associate Director of the
Borderline Personality Disorder's Unit at the NYS Psychiatric
Institute at Columbia University College of Physician and Surgeons.
He was also a developer/consultant to five state crisis
intervention services in Connecticut. He was Vice Chair of
Education at the University of Colorado Medical School
and Associate Chair of Education at Dell Medical School.
