About the Author - June Bretherton June Bretherton (UK) was born in 1942. She trained as a specialist teacher for children with learning difficulties. She married and has one daughter. Apart from teaching, she also worked as a speaker for the Royal National Institute for the Blind (RNIB) as well as being a Trustee for several charities and Administrator of others, mostly connected to visual impairment. She was also working closely with the UK Government to develop employment schemes & opportunities for disadvantaged people. She has acted as a counsellor for several district council groups/Social Services and is also an advisor to several European governmental ministries. June became totally blind in 1984 and, naturally enough, started her own company, 'JBC Consultancy', in 1988, providing equality training, rehabilitation and developing access strategies for the National Portrait Gallery, Imperial War Museum etc. From 1990 to 2004, her company created and ran a variety of exhibitions and became increasingly involved in Theatre, Design and the Arts in general. June Bretherton is recognised Internationally as 'an authority'. In 2000, she started work as an expert witness to the Courts of Law. Now, semi-retired, she is still head of 'JBC London', the group of people she has trained to continue the 'front line' work, while finally having more time to herself, to create paintings, make designer knitwear... ...and write books: Short stories: "The Wall", "The Choice", "Perspectives"... and "Mrs. Tiptail" - an illustrated children's book.... ...plus "The Potential" - a thriller trilogy.
