About the Author

Stephanie Greene is a long time fan of princesses. She admires their tutus and glittery veils and necklaces - the works! Reviews

“It is an impressive feat when just a few short sentences can relay the complicated relationship dynamics as perceived by a first-grader, but Greene does it again and again as she chronicles Posey’s emotional endeavors with tenderness and compassion. Young readers will relate to Posey’s need to feel special in the eyes of one she admires, and they’ll be delighted when she finds a way to do so while remaining true to herself.” — Bulletin of the Center for Children's Books

“Greene continues to get the social dynamic of first-grade girls perfect. . . . Very short chapters, generous font, lots of eye-saving white space on each page and frequent black-and-white illustrations make this early chapter book accessible to the very earliest reader. Posey is flawed in a way that is absolutely perfect. She struggles with her emotions and finds her way back with the help of her mother, teacher and small circle of buddies.” — Kirkus Reviews

"Once again, Greene’s brief chapters capture a first grader’s enthusiasm, small but real heartache, and problem-solving gumption--thank goodness for that pink tutu that turns Posey into Princess Posey, who 'wouldn’t cry if someone gave the same present. She would just think of another present.'" — The Horn Book
