Reviews

?Porter and Nichols and Williams provide an eclectic tour of modern oceanography....Useful for ocean science libraries; its handy summary information about other research is more readily accessible than Web browsing for the same information. Recommended. Graduate students through professionals.?-Choice

?Recent Advances and Issues in Oceanography is a survey of the field and a fascinating field it is....This book would be a valuable addition to high school andpublic libraries as well as those college and university libraries that support a marine science or related programs.?-E-Streams

?This book describes and evaluates the major current research developments in ocean sciences. Topics include advances in measuring ocean phenomena from space, in situ instruments, and the development of fully integrated observation systems that allow investigators to take environmental "snapshots" of areas that must be monitored in order to protect property and save lives.?-Abstracts of Public Administration, Development and Environment
