Reviews

"[T]he highlight of this book was the incredible, fascinatingly grotesque collage illustrations that are at once intense and playful. These images are just so unique, I couldn't stop looking at them. Really, it almost felt like an art book. ... fun-to-read." - Dr. Amitha Jagannath Knight "This striking bilingual exploration of a little girl's aversion to all things wiggly works effortlessly on every level ...Spanish and/or English--plus a humorous, yet gross, index of bugs ... museum-quality, collage-like artwork; this title raises the bar for all children's picture books" - Top ten books for 2011 ForeWord Reviews "Delightful book ... humorous rhyming text ... bright illustrations" - Ana Rodriguez for School Library Journal 2012 "... A great read with fantastic illustrations. The rhyming text introduces a rich vocabulary of words to describe the creatures in the story and the young girl's reaction to them ... Delightful book!" - A. Carr, Goodreads.com "... A funny tale about a little girl and what bugs her. The illustrations are colorful and edgy--and full of surprises" - Amy Stewart, Midvale Valley Journal "... Hilarious, witty ... Creative multi-media (colorful) illustrations delight and disgust ... yucky, funny and challenging ... No adult ... will be tempted to go to sleep before the twist ending" - Midwest Book Review "Funny ... Snakes, worms, snails, and scorpions are just a few of the gifts [this] girl refuses to touch. The reader is never sure who is offering [them] ... The rhythmic cadence of the text is pleasing to the ear ... The illustrations are whimsical with bright colors ... I think the best way to judge a children's book is through a child's reaction ... Maddox asked me to read the story to him several times." - Anne B. for Readers Favorite Max Aures (age 4.5, and mom) for Reader Views: "... The person wrote the English part of the book using a crayon. ... I like that the girl doesn't want ... any of the things that they give her. ... a spider, or a worm, or a snail. ... My favorite part of the book was the last page ... with everything on it. I liked when the book said to go on the computer and see [what] was real. ... That was fun!" "My son enjoyed She Doesn't Want the Worms/ Ella no quiere los gusanos and liked the 'secret' ending that we had to look up online at the publisher's website."
