Author, Greg L. Reid, is a survivor of childhood physical abuse at the hands of, not just one, but both of his parents. At times, the abuse was so severe, it was nothing short of a miracle that he lived through it. At the age of 15, he ran away from home, escaping his abusers, and began building a life for himself, on his own terms. However, it was far from easy to overcome the lingering effects of his abusive childhood. Greg had to work very hard to be a better a person, and a successful contributing member of society. He has accomplished that. Today, and every day, he strives to be a positive influence on every person he meets. Writing his book, 'Slap! Punch! Kick! Mom and Dad are Home', was part of Greg's healing. Publishing it is his contribution to other survivors of childhood physical abuse; men, in particular. Greg now brings his very graphic book to life, by speaking to audiences frankly, in his own inimitable way. His interviews sparkle with his direct humour and sharp wit. Yet, his passionate dedication to the cause of ending child abuse is always evident. Greg is living the directive, "Tell, and keep telling, until someone listens." A second book by Greg L. Reid, which is in the works, will further perpetuate that directive. Greg L. Reid was born in Trochu, Alberta, Canada, and moved around the Province of Alberta during his early school years. After high school, Greg moved to Vancouver, BC, and lived in the lower mainland for 26 years, where he developed his career in Civil, Structural and Environmental construction and engineering. In 2005, he and his family designed, developed and lived on a five-acre Lavender Agri-Tourism Farm for five years in the Langley, BC area. He presently lives in Calgary, Alberta. http: //greglreid.ca
