"Jaw-droppingly hilarious!" Carol-Romaine Penn, Award-winning writer"Spot-on for expats, highly entertaining, and absolutely hilarious!" - Lynne Willard, Editor"Extremely well-written, honest, and delightfully funny; a must read for any foreigner living in Mexico!" - Paul Voudouris, Musician & Expat"This is one of the funniest books I have ever read! I kept laughing out loud" - Carol Schmidt, Author & Expat"Not just a fun read but truly funny." - Dr. Terry Shaft, Professor & Mom"Sonna's style is light, breezy, and funny. And every inch of the story is true. If you are squeamish about crossing into the U.S. with a Mexican man stashed in the trunk of your car, this book may not be for you. But, if you're in the mood for a tortilla and peanut butter sandwich and a fun read, you've landed in the right place." - Susan Hale, Author"Dr. Sonna paints for us, in language both humorous and heartfelt, the portrait of her larger-than-life mother - a gutsy, outrageous, zany, unpredictable, personality. I enjoyed every chapter as each new adventure tumbled off the page like wild gymnast feats. To boot, I learned in depth, significant ways in which Mexican and US cultures differ." - Tasha Paley, Author, Illustrator, Arts Therapist, EDM, MSW, Expat"Not just a fun read but truly funny. Linda does a fabulous job translating her mother's (mis)adventures to the page. Witty and well written." - Barbara Young Dobrinen, Parent"The adventure of learning a new culture can be hilarious - as seen through this book!" - Diane Gilliard, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor."The hilarious story of a Chicago housewife and mother who escapes the vanilla limitations of domestic suburban life for spicy, unlimited adventures and opportunities in the wild west of 1960's Mexico. A funny and entertaining cultural tale!" - Gray Wolf, Healer, Expat
