This is a wonderful collection of music from the movie; I found the music to be extremely evocative and uplifting, with beautiful orchestral melodies all expertly played, and the vocals by Lisa Gerrard were heart-breakingly lovely in places. Each melody tells the story of the corresponding part of the movie, however I think they stand very well on their own; as well, some melodies flow beautifully into one another, adding continuity to the pieces. A really beautiful album, with very, very fine music

i feel the same way about this soundtrack as i do with the movie alexanders soundtrack. its just not as good when it doesn't have the film itself to accompany it. i highly enjoyed the music when watching the movie, but alone, the music isn't that good to be perfectly honest. buy it if you're sure you like this kind of music.

DEFINITELY one of Zimmers best works so far. I was spellbound when listening, especially with Lisa's haunting voice. The themes and melodies inspires numerous emotions at the same time and includes all my favourite tracks from the movie, especially 'Now we are free'. Some of the tracks have been used on classical music compilations: thats how inspirational this CD is. If you don't have it, you don't have a complete CD collection.
